Folts Foundation

“To keep a lamp burning, one must put oil in it.” - Mother Teresa

Folts Foundation, the fundraising arm of Folts Homes, is committed to stimulating and encouraging the philanthropic support of Folts Homes. Support comes from various sources to include: individuals, United Methodist congregations, corporations and charitable foundations. The financial resources that are received through various forms of charitable giving provide financial assistance to Folts Homes’ related organizations and the various programs and services that are offered within our facilities.

Charitable giving to the Folts Foundation can be considered in many ways. Whether a donor chooses to provide a one time cash donation or establish a planned gift, this contribution strengthens Folts Homes’ ability to provide high quality health care and related services to our residents, both now and in the future.

Charitable contributions can be generalized (unrestricted) or specific (restricted) to ensure that the donor’s desire will be fulfilled.

~ Ways to make a difference by supporting Folts Foundation ~

There are many opportunities available to support the ongoing mission of Folts Homes:

Periodic Donations - can be made in recognition, honor or memory of a resident, staff member or volunteer. It is noted that more and more, the family members and associates of our deceased residents are choosing to express their sympathy for a lost loved one in a more enduring way than with cards and flowers. Making a charitable contribution in that person’s name can have a special meaning to both the family and the donor.

Angel Appeal - our annual, holiday season giving program - when thoughtful honors, remembrances and memorials are dedicated, placing a cherished angel on the Folts’ holiday “Blessing Tree.”

Special Events - include educational seminars, summer festivals, dinner theaters, golf outings, and cultural affairs.

Tree of Life - a dignified monument that has been fashioned as a rich symbol of respect and honor, enabling the donor to provide a lasting tribute. Placement of a gift on the “Tree of Life” not only creates a visible symbol of grace and permanence, but provides the necessary aid to tend to others needing the care and services that Folts Homes provide.

Scholarship Programs - can be established as an everlasting tribute in memory of a loved one, while at the same time promote the need for social service occupations and aid those pursuing an education in the field of health care.

Bequests - can be made through a Last Will and Testament designating a one time gift or ongoing Trust. These can be restricted by the donor in various methods, whereby providing long term financial support.

Insurance Policy Programs - where Folts Homes can be named beneficiary to the policy. One more popular venue is the “single premium issuance” life insurance policy.

Life Income Gifts - can ensure the donor’s own financial security, while offering tax benefits and providing for a charitable cause. A “Charitable Gift Annuity” is a great example of how a gift can be provided to our charitable organization and at the same time generate income for the donor. This is actually a contract between the donor and the charity that is part gift and part annuity. In addition to the annuity payment, the donor receives a charitable income tax deduction and a portion of each annuity payment may be tax-free.
